We rely on our fantastic, fearless and friendly volunteer shopkeepers to help keep London’s monster population stocked with their daily essentials. All profits from the shop are donated to the Ministry of Stories, so they can continue their brilliant work with the young people of east London, and our shopkeepers are often the first point of contact for adults and children wanting to learn more about the Ministry.
We’re looking for people who can provide great customer service, want to support a good cause, enjoy using their imagination, and are looking to learn new skills.
That’s it really. You don’t have to be an expert on monsters or know what goes into witches’ brews. Whatever your interests, if you have an appetite for fun and are good with people, we’d love to hear from you.
All our volunteers receive training, regular feedback and lots of opportunities to build customer service, communication and retail skills.
Our shop is open Thursday and Friday from 1-5pm, and on Saturdays from 11-5pm. We ask all volunteers to commit to at least six shifts in the first six months.

We also have other voluntary opportunities within the Ministry of Stories. Visit the Ministry of Stories to find out more.
