Our Curse and the National Lottery Awards
Long-time customers will be aware of the rather inconvenient curse placed upon us early last century.
We are unable to disclose how this curse came to be, only that it has something to do with the years 1897, 1903, 1913 and 1914 - recall anything unusual happening in your daily life back then? - a Bavarian mob and our founder Igor's great grandnephew.
However, it all lead to the Hoxton Street Monster Supplies' profits being redirected to the Ministry of Stories, a creative writing and mentoring charity for young humans.
Now, as if getting all our profits wasn't enough, the Ministry of Stories has gone ahead and been nominated for a 2015 National Lottery Award, beating hundreds of other applicants to get to the finals.
Are monsters supposed to feel good about this? Children are for scaring! Hrrmph.
And yet, we are impressed. They will now go head-to-head with six other organisations for the chance to win the coveted award.
As well as being in with a chance of receiving £2,000 - which potentially means we could keep £2,000 ourselves for spending on coffin refurbishments or investing in stronger stake-proof vests for staff - the Ministry could also be invited to appear on BBC One.
If you can muster a soft spot for children's creativity - and let's be fair, their creativity does do us wonders - you can vote for the Ministry using the link below or by calling 0844 836 9709.
